Quiénes Somos

Sus intereses se centran en varios aspectos de biología de algas, últimamente dirigidos a entender interacciones alga-patógeno, tales como, i) Descripción de patógenos nuevos, incluyendo ciclos de vida, estrategias de diseminación e infección, nutrición y desarrollo; ii) aspectos epidemiológicos de poblaciones de algas pardas usando patosistemas naturales; y iii) inmunidad de algas, con énfasis en inmunidad localizada y sistémica y mecanismos de muerte celular programada y autofagia.

Adicionalmente, y a través del Laboratorio de Macroalgas de la Sede Puerto Montt de la UACh, pilotea tecnología de cultivo de algas pardas y rojas de interés comercial. También intentamos desarrollar y evaluar el manejo y repoblamiento de estas especies en las praderas naturales, para garantizar la sustentabilidad medioambiental en el tiempo.
